I watched a great documentary called ‘the magic pill’ on netflix. And it really provides food for thought… scuse the pun. So basically, begin to heal your body through the food you eat.
It suggests, eat whole, fresh, organic foods your body understands. It will use what it needs and get rid of the rest. It’s very hard to gain weight on a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, clean protein–and up to 40% fat, like some of the healthiest and most long-living populations!
Did you know that eating a good amount of the right fats (avocados, nuts, nut butters, coconut oil, olives, olive oil, eggs, etc) are actually shown to help your body BURN away old body fat? So if you have excess and unhealthy weight on you that you’d like to get rid of, you must eat fats to truly burn that layer off, instead of muscle and water loss,
which is more common on low-cal and fat-free diets. Also, many vitamins are fat-soluble, so you can eat that salad all you want, but if you don’t douse it in some olive oil, you won’t be getting your A, D, E or K.
As importantly, a decent amount of fat, will give you energy, help repair your whole body, satisfy you so you don’t want sugar, and give you the energy you need to get through your workouts, and your day.
We are part of an era which provides too many high sugar, processed carbs and unhealthy food options… and the fast paced, on the go lifestyles don’t help.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m no saint when it comes to the ‘nice foods’, but I really think the way to go is cleaner eating and healthier lifestyles as often as we can. And if you’re still trying to crack the habit of binge eating, or eating too much of the wrong kinds of food… come see me for hypnotherapy.
